ELVI grants development funding for game developers
Elvi project has been supporting the game development business for six months now and several potential concept ideas have been found. Alltogether nine ideas have been chosen for the project. Six ideas are from private indivuals and the rest from companies. Three concepts have been seriously thinking about setting up a company so that the concepts can be developed even further. -- Our goal is to get game companies in the Oulu region, so we are giving development funding for companies only working in this area. We support potential concepts to become full products. We offer help from start to finish, from an idea to a finished product. A company can apply for development funding for an idea it has been developing, which enables for example making a demo version of the game and sending it to the publishers. You can't support starting game developers any better than this, so the game development business should really start to grow on this region, professon Tony Manninen says.

Also new project manager Suvi Latva started at the beginning of year 2006. She expects the new job to be challenging but also very exciting.
