Call for what and from where?
ELVI-project is open for applications from individuals and companies registered in the European Union Objective 2 area of Northern Ostrobothnia. We are looking for fresh, innovative ideas for games or products of interactive entertainment, with special interest in original game content based on own immaterial property. ELVI is platform-, device- and tech-free - the idea and how to make it happen are what matter.

Calling dates
Continuous call ends by the end of April 2006, and from May on the products can apply to the project in August 2006 and November 2006. For more information, please contact our project personnel (see bottom of page). You can also ask for a first evaluation from our project team without participating to the project - however, you won't be able to utilize our expert consultation.

How do I apply?
You can apply by filling the form below (please note the correct attachment for either games or interactive entertainment) and sending it to us to elvi(at)oulu.fi. Each concept is handled individually, after which the applicant(s) is called for an interview. Based on the interview, most potential concepts are chosen for the project. Approved concepts receive expert consultation to design, develop and create a business around the product, as well as information of the industry and services provided by our co-operating partners. Consultation is free for personal applications, companies are under De Minimis (stating EU support not exceeding 100,000 EUR in 3 years) and obliged to participate in the costs of the consultancy.

The goal for the project is to increase the amount of jobs and businesses in the region, for which successful quality products are needed, for which new and innovative ideas are required, as well as new thoughts and methods to make them happen. If your idea is still in an early stage, filling out the forms might give you some perspective, or at least help writing the idea down. Think about it and take your time, and if you want to talk about your idea, get in touch - communication doesn't require application.

How do I fill in the forms?
There are a total of 3 forms. The first one is the application itself which all applicants must fill. The rest of the forms are used to describe the idea you have but it's not completely necessary to fill in them in case your idea isn't that clear yet. The forms are used in the interviews so it should be useful to fill them. Note that we are NOT using the forms when choosing the concepts for the project, the decision is made only after the interview.

Note that the attachments are different: one for games and one for interactive entertainment. Choose the attachment that suits your concept best.
